DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, ADMINISTRATION FOR NATIVE AMERICANS

ACKCO, Inc. is responsible for providing training and technical assistance to current and potential Administration for Native Americans (ANA) grantees in Region II (western half of the continental United States). The scope of the project includes:

  • Individualized Technical Assistance.
  • Providing Pre-Application Training Sessions.
  • Post-Award Training.
Additional technical assistance activities include the provision of support to ANA current and potential grantees through:
  • Telephone
  • Mail
  • E-mail
  • Fax
  • Internet
  • Walk-ins
ACKCO is responsible for the development of all training and technical assistance materials, development of the ANA Region II website (anawestern.org), marketing of the availability of the ANA sponsored training and technical assistance, and management of the data collected in the provision of the training and technical assistance.

TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE NATIVE AMERICAN GRANTEES.

ACKCO, Inc. is responsible for the assessment of need, design and development of training materials, and providing comprehensive training to the Tribes participating in the programs sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service. The scope of the project includes:

  • Providing technical assistance to Tribal grantees which included the following activities:
    • Conduct Tribal specific needs assessments and develops individual work plans (IWP) for the provision of technical assistance to each Tribal grantee.
    • Provide on-site training and technical assistance for each Tribal grantee.
    • Provide off-site technical support to all Tribal grantees through electronic information transfer, staffing of an 800 support line to respond to Tribal information requests, and responding to other requests for assistance.
  • Provide technical support for the development, launch, and management of the Tribal Civilian Community Corps, which is a residential service program.
  • Write and publish the Corporation for National and Community Service Tribal Director's Manuals.
  • Facilitate the annual Corporation for National and Community Service sponsored "Service in Indian Country Conferences". The activities for the conferences include:

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES INDIAN HEALTH SERVICES

ACKCO manages a project for the Department of Health and Human Services, Indian Health Services to secure and manage staff to perform professional health services to assist the National Institutes of Health, Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch in the planning and operation of a clinical trial, which will evaluate methods to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes.

 

GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY

ACKCO provides technical support to the Gila River Indian Community Department of Environmental Quality in the management of departmental tribal and grant funds to ensure the integrity of all financial reports and adherence to the federal regulations governing the use of federal funds.
